Ben Hansen is a designer and developer focused on making complex technical systems easier to understand and use. Working across building automation, software, and visual design, he creates interfaces and tools that help people interact with technical systems. At QA Graphics, Hansen works on building automation system (BAS) interfaces designed to help people understand and operate real buildings.

His independent work includes BASidekick projects: free, open-source tools and other resources he has made for the building automation industry. His website brings together projects, games, tools, and writing, offering visitors a view of his work and interests. The projects reflect his focus on the intersection of practical software and building operations, while his design work centers on making information and systems more accessible.

Based in Tucson, Hansen also shares personal interests, including Formula 1, reading, hiking, technology, and drawing. His professional and personal projects are presented as part of an ongoing practice of learning, building useful tools, and making systems make sense.
