Robert Mihaly

Robert Mihaly Art Gallery presents the work of Robert Mihaly, an artist known as North Carolina’s Impressionist. His paintings revisit places across North Carolina through memory, vivid color, and expressive depictions of light and texture. Drawing on a background in sculpture, Mihaly creates tactile, layered canvases that combine the fluidity of Impressionism with a strong sense of form. He describes his approach as Luminous Impressionism.

The gallery offers original paintings and prints in multiple Color Editions. Each edition is recolored by hand to explore a distinct mood, palette, and emotional atmosphere, giving collectors different interpretations of the same artwork. Subjects include Bodie Island Lighthouse, Biltmore, Little Bradley Falls, Occoneechee Speedway, and other regional landmarks and scenes.

Visitors can browse available artworks and shop the gallery’s book selection, as well as small-batch merchandise inspired by Mihaly’s art, including cards and stickers. The site also provides information about the artist, his work, and selected media coverage.
