Robert Piguet, known as The Prince of Fashion, was born in 1898 into a prominent banking family in Yverdon, Switzerland. Despite facing opposition from his family, his passion for fashion design led him to leave Yverdon for Paris at the age of 17. There, he gained valuable experience studying under the legendary houses of Redfern and Poiret.
In 1933, Piguet opened his own atelier on Paris' Rue du Cirque, where he became renowned for his delicate and reserved morning and afternoon dresses, vibrant colors in evening wear, and impeccably tailored grey flannel suits. Each collection embodied Piguet's infallible eye for elegance and refined simplicity. Piguet's success in Paris allowed him to surround himself with the fashion elite and notable artists of the time.
In 1938, he unveiled his greatest achievement, The House of Robert Piguet, located at the prestigious Rond-Point des Champs-Elysee. While Piguet's impact on fashion is unquestionable, it is his fragrance legacy that truly made him legendary. Collaborating with perfumer Germaine Cellier in the late '40s, Piguet created iconic fragrances like Bandit and Fracas, which ushered in a new era in perfumery.
Piguet's dedication to good taste, luxury, and an innate sense of seduction is a hallmark of his creations. Today, the brand Robert Piguet continues to be synonymous with elegance and offers a coveted collection of some of the world's most sought-after scents
