Robeson County Sheriff's Office, led by Sheriff Burnis Wilkins, is committed to improving working relationships between law enforcement, first responders, and citizens of the county. The office has joined forces with agencies at the county, state, and federal levels to establish task forces aimed at combating the region's significant drug problem and its resulting impact on crime rates. Sheriff Wilkins envisions a return to a time when residents felt safe and secure within their own homes.

With this goal in mind, the office strives to bring a sense of safety and security to all citizens, both in the workplace and at home. In addition to their law enforcement efforts, the office actively engages with the community. Sheriff Wilkins and his wife, Jamie, participate in various community activities, such as bike runs for charity, Relay for Life events, and Robeson County Fair events.

The office works closely with local, state, and federal partners, signing mutual aid agreements and joining numerous task forces to enhance their manpower and resources. They have a dedicated Cold Case Team, offering assistance to families affected by unsolved cases, and a Community Impact Team already making significant strides in neighborhoods. They have also expanded their K-9 program to ensure 24/7 availability.

Although they do not seek public praise, the agency remains committed to serving honorably, professionally, and with utmost respect. Through their diligent efforts, the Robeson County Sheriff's Office is working tirelessly to keep the community safe and secure
