Robin Wall Kimmerer

Robin Wall Kimmerer’s work brings Indigenous wisdom, scientific knowledge, and the teachings of plants into conversation, inviting readers to deepen their relationship with the natural world. An enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Kimmerer is a mother, scientist, writer, and decorated professor of environmental biology. She is a SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor at the State University of New York and founded and directs the Center for Native Peoples and the Environment. Based in Syracuse, New York, she shares her ideas through books, public events, and educational work.

Her books include The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge and the Teachings of Plants, and Gathering Moss: A Natural and Cultural History of Mosses. Across her writing, she explores plants, ecology, reciprocity, and the ways different knowledge traditions can enrich our understanding of the living world.
