Rob Kattenburg

Kunsthandel Rob Kattenburg is a specialist art dealership focused on Dutch and Flemish maritime art. With more than 50 years of expertise, it serves private collectors, museums and other clients in the international art market. Its collection centres on paintings, drawings and prints from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, featuring maritime subjects such as shipping and cartography. The gallery also handles ship-related antiques and offers selected works for sale.

Alongside buying and selling museum-quality maritime art, the business provides paid valuations and expertise, with advice on restoration and framing. Its art-historical research draws on a dedicated documentation centre, an extensive library and an archive built over decades, including research materials, images and auction records. The gallery also advises collectors on acquisitions, emphasising artistic quality and careful assessment of attribution. Rob Kattenburg publishes illustrated brochures and catalogues related to maritime art and history, with some digital publications available on its website. Through its specialist knowledge and services, the gallery supports the study, collection and appreciation of historic maritime artworks.
