Rob Wolf

Rob Wolf Geschiedschrijving is the professional practice of Rob Wolf, an independent historian, writer and archivist who has worked in the field since 1990. Born in Breda in 1952, Wolf combines historical research with practical archival services and public engagement. His work includes conducting archival research, writing books and articles, cataloguing and organising archives, carrying out oral-history projects for businesses, and creating exhibitions. He also gives lectures and guided tours.

Wolf’s subjects include Nijmegen, business history and medical history, alongside wider historical events and social change. His publications explore topics such as the history of Tilburg hospitals and the first COVID-19 crisis, a Wijchen compressed-air supplier, Nijmegen’s action orchestra Kladderadatsch, the Spanish flu and Belgian refugees in Nijmegen during the First World War, and the evolution of the independent fuel trade. He has also written about the development of anaesthesia in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Through books, articles and blog posts, the practice makes local, organisational and medical histories accessible to readers and audiences.
