About American Rocketry Challenge
The American Rocketry Challenge, established in 2002, is the largest student rocket competition globally, attracting over 110,000 middle and high school students in model rocketry. This program offers participants a yearlong opportunity to gain hands-on engineering experience by designing, building, testing, and launching model rockets according to strict requirements. Through this immersive experience, students not only cultivate a deep interest in aerospace and STEM but also enhance vital skills such as leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
The initiative is coordinated by the National Center for Advanced Technologies and supported by the Aerospace Industries Association, a leading trade organization in aerospace. Additionally, the National Association of Rocketry, with a history dating back to 1957, promotes safety and innovation in the spacemodeling hobby. The American Rocketry Challenge has received numerous accolades, reinforcing its commitment to inspiring future careers in STEM fields. Participants also benefit from discounts from top model rocket parts vendors, making the challenge not only accessible but also rewarding.
