About Rocq Prover
Rocq is a sophisticated functional programming language and interactive theorem prover, emerging from over 40 years of dedicated research. Originally known as the Coq Proof Assistant, Rocq facilitates the specification and verification of mathematical theorems and software through its high-level language, Gallina, which is built upon the Polymorphic, Cumulative Calculus of Inductive Constructions. This unique approach allows users to efficiently define data structures and functions while interactively developing and checking formal proofs.
Rocq's capabilities extend to the seamless extraction of certified programs in languages such as OCaml, Haskell, and Scheme, making it a versatile tool for both software development and mathematical formalization. The platform is enriched by a variety of interactive proof methods and a user-defined tactic language, enabling customization for diverse proof strategies. Rocq also maintains connections with external systems for enhanced functionality.
With contributions from over 200 individuals, Rocq has garnered prestigious awards, including the ACM Software System Award and the Open Science Free Software Award, underscoring its significance in the realm of research software.
