The German Röntgen Museum in Remscheid-Lennep invites visitors to explore the fascinating world of the invisible through the history and applications of X-rays. Located near the birthplace of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, the museum celebrates the physicist whose discovery transformed medical diagnostics and therapy and opened the way to high-tech applications. Its engaging exhibitions take visitors from the story of Röntgen’s discovery to modern uses of X-rays, connecting medicine, science and technology through an active, hands-on approach.
Rather than simply viewing displays, guests are encouraged to experiment, investigate and make discoveries of their own. The museum offers multimedia and multilingual experiences, age-appropriate guided tours for children and adults, and activities for school classes and children’s groups, including a Mini-Club for primary-school children. Visitors can also attend events at the museum and explore conference and event options at Röntgen’s modernised birthplace nearby.
