The South African Roll of Honour is a vital digital memorial dedicated to commemorating South African service personnel who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country. Initiated in the 1990s using official military documents and regimental records, this ongoing restoration project aims to modernize and enhance the accessibility of these critical records. The site houses over 49,000 entries across 1,798 distinct regiments and features comprehensive tools for searching and browsing by name, rank, or cause of death.

Users can explore individual memorial pages, view statistical trends relating to service members, and access cemetery geo-data for more than 2,800 locations. This tremendous resource also encourages public participation through contributions of additional information or photographs to further enrich the records. As a non-commercial endeavor, the South African Roll of Honour is committed to preserving the memory and sacrifices of those who served, with a focus on commemorative and historical research. Lest we forget.
