About Roman and Williams Guild
Founded in 2002 by Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer, Roman and Williams is a multidisciplinary architecture and design studio that specializes in creating buildings and interiors rooted in a modern paradigm of craftsmanship and history. With a shared love for nature, geometries, form, and historical archetypes, Alesch and Standefer bring a unique artistic devotion to their creations. They began their practice after being approached by an acclaimed actor who wanted a home that would endure beyond a film set.
In the two decades since its founding, Roman and Williams has gained recognition for their ability to translate timeless traditions into a contemporary context. Their portfolio includes renowned hotels, restaurants, homes, and cultural spaces around the world. Not limited to architecture and design, Roman and Williams also offers original furniture and lighting designs, operates the restaurant La Mercerie, and runs RW Guild and Guild Gallery in New York.
