Room2030 is a modular construction project launched in 2018 by architect Sergio Baragaño and ArcelorMittal’s R&D centres in Asturias. It brings together design, technology, manufacturing and collaboration to develop configurable modular habitats. The initiative grew from bhome, a modular construction prototype developed by the same partners in 2016, and began with a hotel-room “laboratory” designed by Baragaño.
Room2030 offers modular solutions across standard, residential, building and office series, with a configurator to support planning. Its approach combines partner technologies and industrial manufacturing, aiming to deliver high-quality spaces with attention to health, wellbeing and sustainability. The company also highlights adaptable, scalable designs, a network of factories for faster production and ongoing updates throughout a habitat’s lifecycle.
Its work includes projects in development and research and development initiatives, alongside completed examples such as port facilities, ArcelorMittal R&D spaces and Casa Montaña. Through its living lab, innovation platform and open innovation work, Room2030 explores how industrialised construction can shape flexible habitats.
