Root Gallery is a contemporary art gallery presenting work by emerging and established artists. Located in a restored 1900 dike building in the Krimpenerwaard, just outside Rotterdam, it combines changing exhibitions with an ongoing presentation of works by its represented artists. The gallery builds long-term relationships with artists whose practices explore materials, ideas and distinctive forms of expression.
Its collection spans painting, sculpture, photography and mixed media, with works available in small, mid-size and large formats. Visitors can also discover wall sculptures, textile and paper works, and installations. Artists represented include Vera Klaus, Donald Schenkel, Lisette Schumacher, Madelon Uljee, Jan Theun van Rees, Saïd Kinos, Karen van de Vliet, Noah Arends and Francisca Snel. Available artworks include unique glass sculptures, alongside paintings and photographic works.
Root Gallery offers personal advice and private viewings for visitors interested in seeing a work in person. The gallery welcomes visitors on Fridays and Saturdays from 13:00 to 17:00, and by appointment.
