Root River Rod Co, established in April 2017 by the late Steve Sobieniak, is a beloved family-owned fly shop that celebrates the art of fly fishing. Following Steve's passing in Fall 2022, the shop is now expertly run by his daughter, Alayna Sobieniak, and son-in-law, Lance Prado. Known for its extensive range of fly fishing gear, Root River offers quality products from top brands like Simms, Patagonia, and Ross Reels, along with a unique selection of vintage and new bamboo fly rods.
In addition to fly rods, customers can find essential gear including fly lines, reels, waders, and fly tying supplies, as well as books and accessories for all fishing enthusiasts. The shop also provides guided fishing trips, ensuring a personal touch for those looking to enhance their skills. With a commitment to exceptional customer service and a rich legacy in bamboo rod making, Root River Rod Co continues to honor Steve's passion while nurturing a vibrant fishing community.
