The Rope Bat is a patented swing trainer brand revolutionizing the way baseball and softball players approach hitting. Founded by Dr. Gary Long, the brand emerged out of a necessity to help struggling players improve their swing.

It all started when Coach Long was coaching a 16U baseball team and noticed that one of his players, Jake, had a disconnected swing. After traditional hitting drills failed to show any progress, Coach Long came up with the idea of the Rope Bat. This flexible bat-like tool forces players to eliminate slack in their swing and promotes a connected swing.

The first swing with the Rope Bat showed immediate improvement for Jake, and Coach Long gradually refined the design to benefit players of all ages and skill levels. Today, the Rope Bat is used by countless youth, high school, college, and professional teams worldwide. With a durable and secure design, it simulates bat sizes from 26 to 34 inches and includes Smushballs and a comprehensive Hitting Guide.

The Rope Bat's holistic approach helps players focus on the entire swing, resulting in improved hitting and a boost in confidence. In 2021, Coach Long sold the business to the Dahlgren family, who are committed to expanding the Rope Bat's reach and impact. While Coach Long remains actively involved in the brand, he also plans to offer hitting workshops to coaches across the country
