Rosario’s Holy Mother Association is a social welfare corporation rooted in the Catholic Church and guided by the principle of walking alongside people who are often overlooked. Its origins date to 1931, when Catholic priest and surgeon Father Bunkei Totsuka moved the Nazareth House tuberculosis sanatorium to what is now Asahi City, Chiba Prefecture. The association has since developed a network of 22 facilities and service locations supporting people across the community.
Its services span disability support, healthcare, child development, employment, older-person care, and community living. Programs include residential and day services, rehabilitation, short stays, group homes, employment support, home care, and consultations for individuals and families. Facilities provide specialist support for people with profound disabilities, children who need developmental assistance, and people experiencing mental health concerns. The association also operates community consultation services, including a round-the-clock support desk, and helps older adults remain safe in their familiar surroundings.
Across its work, Rosario’s Holy Mother Association emphasizes respect for every life and practical, compassionate support for people in need.
