Regia Națională a Pădurilor - Romsilva, operating under the authority of the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, is committed to sustainable and unified forest management. Their main objective is to effectively manage the state-owned forest resources in accordance with forest management plans and regulations, aiming to improve environmental conditions and meet the nation's demand for timber, forest products, and forestry-related services. Additionally, Romsilva oversees the coordination and implementation of the national program for genetic improvement of horses, promoting valuable equine specimens from their stud farms through sporting competitions, fairs, and exhibitions.

With 22 park administrations, RNP-Romsilva is responsible for the administration of 22 national and natural parks, where state-owned forest resources play a significant role, ensuring the conservation of biodiversity in these protected areas.
