Rotorua Anglers Association Inc. is a fishing club established in 1949 and an established part of Rotorua’s angling community. Based in a region known for its lakes, streams and rivers, the Association welcomes anglers of all ages and experience levels, from juniors and beginners to retirees and accomplished fishers. Its activities are designed to help members improve their angling and connect with others who share an interest in fishing.
The Association offers fly-tying activities, fly-fishing courses, a Stream Team and children’s fishing days. It also provides fishing tips and links, a Rotorua trout fishing guide, club competitions, awards and opportunities to register fish for trophies. Members can find information about events, club policies and local fishing through its website and newsletter.
Those seeking tuition or guidance can learn from experienced anglers, while knowledgeable members have opportunities to share their skills. The club welcomes visitors to its rooms at 33 Pererika Street on Fridays from 5 to 7.30 p.m., where they can meet members over coffee or a drink from the licensed bar.
