Rotta – Natuur-

Natuur- en Vogelwacht Rotta is an active nature conservation association serving the Rottemeren recreational area and the municipalities of Zuidplas, Lansingerland and Rotterdam. The organisation brings people together to learn about, observe and protect local nature, with activities for adults and young people. Members can join regular nature work sessions to help manage natural areas, guided outings in the region and excursions elsewhere in the Netherlands. Rotta also runs youth activities and seasonal plant-group programmes that include learning about plants and conducting inventories.

The association shares information about local nature reserves, projects, wildlife observations and conservation through news, publications and its member magazine, Aves Visum. Its website features information about places such as Koornmolengat, Nessebos, Park de Polder, Hoge Bergse Bos and the Zevenhuizerplas, as well as projects including tern islands and an Idylle. Rotta offers adult and youth membership, welcomes donors and volunteers, and provides routes for walking and cycling. Its Trefpunt in Bergschenhoek hosts activities and is open on Thursdays and according to the programme.
