Vertiberry

Rouge is a Québec-based strawberry brand operated by Vertiberry, specializing in premium, locally grown berries produced year-round in a fully controlled indoor farming facility in L’Assomption. Since March 2024, the company has supplied pesticide-free strawberries to markets in Québec and New England, with products available through grocery stores and local shops. Its cultivation methods are designed to deliver juicy, firm fruit picked at peak ripeness, with consistent flavor and freshness throughout every season, including Québec’s winter months.

Rouge emphasizes responsible agriculture, using less water, fertilizer, and farmland than conventional approaches and aiming to reduce waste and environmental impact. The facility runs on Québec’s renewable hydroelectricity, and local production helps shorten the distance its strawberries travel. Rouge’s origins draw on Vertiberry’s commercial indoor-growing experience, which began with potted herbs in 2017 and expanded to strawberries in 2020. The brand serves retailers and distributors and welcomes inquiries about its farming practices and retail partnerships. Rouge is also designing another Québec facility intended to increase its production capacity by more than tenfold.
