Roughstock Jiu Jitsu is a martial arts school in Harrisonburg, Virginia, founded to make high-level jiu-jitsu training accessible in a fun, supportive, and judgment-free environment. The academy emphasizes both technical skill and understanding the reasoning behind each technique, while fostering respect, determination, open communication, and confidence on and off the mat. Experienced instructors help students develop at their own pace and reach their potential.

Programs serve children and adults across a range of experience levels. Youth Gi and NoGi classes teach movement, takedowns, control, escapes, and self-defense while building discipline, resilience, and confidence. Adult Gi and NoGi classes combine technique, positional training, live rounds, and problem-solving. Women’s JiuJitsu offers dedicated women-only training alongside the regular adult schedule, and Wrestling for JiuJitsu develops wrestling skills relevant to grappling. Open Mat sessions provide informal practice, sparring, and knowledge-sharing, with visitors from other academies welcome. Roughstock is a proud affiliate of Team Passos and offers schedules, pricing, and sign-up information through its website.
