About Rowing Australia
RowingAust is dedicated to engaging youth in the sport of rowing through dynamic programs designed for primary and secondary students. Partnering with the Australian Sports Commission, RowingAust offers the Riggers initiative, part of the Sporting Schools program funded by the Australian Government. This initiative aims to make rowing accessible and enjoyable, promoting teamwork, leadership, and physical fitness.
The Riggers programs include two main offerings: the Riggers Experience Rowing, which provides on-water sessions tailored for secondary students, and the Riggers Indoor Rowing Program, designed for both primary and secondary students. The on-water program enables students to learn rowing skills in a safe environment, while the indoor program utilizes rowing machines and fun activities to keep younger participants engaged. With a commitment to inclusivity and safety, RowingAust invites schools to apply for funding to support these enriching experiences while fostering a love for sport among young Australians
