Royal City Cooperative Preschool

Royal City Cooperative Preschool is a play-based early learning centre in Guelph, Ontario, located in the city’s Old University neighbourhood at 87 Dean Avenue. Established in 1969, it is described as Guelph’s first cooperative preschool and has a long history of supporting young children through engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences. The preschool is registered in the government-funded Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) program.

RCCP offers toddler and preschool classes on weekday mornings, with additional preschool sessions available on selected afternoons. Its programs are designed around each child’s individual needs and include activities that encourage intellectual, emotional, developmental and sensory learning. As a cooperative, the school welcomes families’ involvement in its operations and daily activities, while offering flexibility to accommodate different needs and schedules.

The preschool also provides resources for families, including registration information, a parent handbook, a school calendar, snack guidance, social stories, forms and parenting support. Royal City Cooperative Preschool aims to create a cheerful, supportive environment where children can learn through play and families can participate in their early education.
