Royal Oak Skating Academy

Royal Oak Skating Academy LLC is an ice skating school in Royal Oak, Michigan, focused on developing athletes and helping skaters progress beyond learn-to-skate programs. A partner of New Edge Figure Skating Club, the academy combines private and group instruction, both on and off the ice, to support skaters of different ages and abilities.

Its on-ice skills classes strengthen skating fundamentals across levels and disciplines. Off-ice conditioning helps build the strength and endurance needed for skating, while ballet classes develop artistry and posture through classical ballet. The academy also offers private instruction, which can be tailored to an individual skater’s needs, and group training, which encourages teamwork, friendships, community, and motivation.

Royal Oak Skating Academy describes both formats as valuable to athlete development. Private lessons support individualized training for recreational and competitive skaters, while group instruction provides a collaborative learning environment. The academy recommends combining private and group instruction for competitive skaters. Its website also features a training toolbox, team classes, and music editing, alongside online booking and membership information.
