About Royal Signals Museum
The Royal Signals Museum in Blandford Camp, Dorset, explores the history and continuing development of military communications. Its collections tell the story from the Crimean War and early semaphore and telegraph systems to modern digital, cyber and battlefield technologies, highlighting the people, equipment and innovations behind the Army’s communications. Visitors can discover exhibitions on the Corps’ history, battles and conflicts, women at war, codes and codebreakers, medals, uniforms, vehicles and signalling equipment. An immersive exhibition, The Cold War: In the Shadow of the Bomb, offers an interactive look at life during that era.
The museum welcomes families, history enthusiasts, schools, colleges and other groups, with educational visits, guided tours and event hosting available. Admission is ticketed, with concession and group rates; some visitors, including Blue Card holders and Blandford Camp residents and staff, enter free. The on-site shop sells books, toys, gifts, souvenirs, uniform items and other products, and admission to the shop is free. The museum also offers a digital guide and features an amateur radio station.
