RRANZ

Response and Recovery Aotearoa New Zealand (RRANZ) is a professional development consortium focused on strengthening the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of emergency management leaders in New Zealand. Bringing together subject matter experts in response and recovery leadership, RRANZ develops and delivers practical learning experiences informed by international research and workshops with local, regional, and central government stakeholders.

Its training supports emergency managers in handling the complex, real-world demands of their roles. Courses include the Response and Recovery Leadership Development Programme, Managing in an Emergency Coordination Centre, and CIMS Function training covering essential functions within an Emergency Operations Centre. RRANZ also offers continuing professional development through online and in-person masterclasses, as well as customised in-house training.

Designed for people such as Response and Recovery Managers, Controllers, and staff with coordination-centre function roles, the programmes help participants build confidence and capability. RRANZ provides course information and enrolment options, alongside professional resources, participant feedback, and the David Johnston Memorial Scholarship.
