We rebuild coral reefs. Sustainably. Scientifically. With artistic vision. Our innovative, modular structures are designed to restore and promote reef life and serve as coastal protection barriers. Our reefs recreate the lost 3D-framework of a damaged reef, restoring reef ecosystem services such as fish stocks, tourism, biodiversity, and coastal protection. We achieve this goal by combining artistic vision with scientific rigor, and the newest 3D printing technologies.

About Rrreefs
As an ETH Spin-off, their work is rooted in science and engineering, while embracing art and education. Founded in October 2020 by Marie Griesmar, Ulrike Pfreundt, Hanna Kuhfuß, and Josephine, rrreefs association aims to rebuild coral reefs. In 2023, they will transition into a social environmental impact business.
The core team consists of experts in various fields. Dr. Ulrike Pfreundt, with a background in tropical ocean ecosystems, leads scientific strategy and business development.
Marie Griesmar, an artist and material specialist, oversees product development, design, and marketing. Hanna Kuhfuß, a marine scientist and experienced diver, leads field operations. Josephine Graf, with a background in climate politics, oversees partnership engagement and business development.
Supported by a dedicated team of volunteers and students, rrreefs is passionate about creating a massive positive impact for the oceans, the planet, and human societies
