RSPCA Brighton

RSPCA Brighton & The Heart of Sussex is a separately registered animal welfare charity serving communities across Sussex, from Worthing to Eastbourne and the coast to Crawley. Its team of staff and volunteers rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes unwanted, abandoned and neglected animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, small furries, birds and reptiles. The charity operates an animal centre in Patcham and a cattery at Bluebell Ridge in Hastings, where animals receive care while they wait for suitable homes. Prospective adopters can browse animals seeking homes and apply to adopt; visits to meet animals are by appointment.

Alongside rescue and rehoming, the charity runs a subsidised cat neutering scheme and works to support pets in the community. People can help through donations, volunteering in its charity shops, fostering animals, purchasing items from its wishlist, or playing its weekly lottery. The branch also shares pet-care advice and is raising funds for a kennel build to improve shelter facilities for rescue dogs and cats.
