About RUAF
RUAF is a global partnership dedicated to promoting sustainable urban agriculture and food systems. Comprised of expert institutions, cities, research institutes, and NGOs, RUAF has over 20 years of experience in advancing urban agriculture and transforming food systems worldwide. The partnership serves as a platform for learning, knowledge brokering, and interdisciplinary work.
RUAF offers a range of services and support to local and subnational governments, urban producer organizations, NGOs, and research centers. This includes training, technical assistance, and innovative solutions to address food system challenges faced by towns and cities. RUAF also plays a crucial role in informing and influencing the development of sustainable food policies at the city and municipal level.
To facilitate knowledge exchange, RUAF publishes the Urban Agriculture Magazine, a unique online resource that highlights the latest research and practices in the field. RUAF is guided by three strategic goals: promoting localized systems of production and consumption, strengthening the resilience of urban food systems, and enhancing the role of cities in food policy governance.
