Rubanov

Rubanov is the creative technology practice of a creative technologist based in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Since 2023, Rubanov has combined storytelling, design and technology to create digital experiences that people can see, feel and interact with. Its work spans teaching, experimentation and commissioned projects, with a focus on creative coding, interaction and immersive media.

Teaching activities introduce students to physical computing through prototypes and interactive installations built with microcontrollers, sensors and actuators. Rubanov also explores extended reality, including virtual, augmented and mixed reality, and teaches TouchDesigner for designing realtime graphics and interactive installations suited to physical spaces and live performances.

The practice’s experiments include browser-based graphics and realtime rendering with Three.js, WebGL, shaders and lighting. Commissioned work includes graphic and interactive design, visualizations, interactive 3D applications and realtime web graphics. Rubanov also undertakes research projects that test technical concepts and develop them into practical results. Across its work, the approach is hands-on: tinkering, designing, prototyping and coding to turn ideas into engaging experiences.
