Rudkin Aviary is a family-owned specialty bird breeding facility in California, founded in 1912 by F. H. Rudkin Sr.

and now operated by Terry and Rita Rudkin. Its collection focuses on Major Mitchell’s cockatoos, also known as Pink or Leadbeater’s cockatoos, alongside Long-billed Corellas and Greater Sulphur-crested Cockatoos. The aviary raises parent-reared Major Mitchell’s cockatoos for collectors and breeders, with birds and unrelated, DNA-sexed pairs offered for sale subject to availability.

It does not buy and resell birds, and it uses uniquely coded closed bands to record each bird’s origin and help avoid breeding within the same bloodlines. The facility features dedicated breeding flights with concrete floors, natural eucalyptus perches, and access to sun, shade, and weather protection. Birds are fed a diet based on Roudybush pellets, supplemented with fresh produce and eucalyptus grown on the ranch.

Rudkin Aviary favors natural parenting over artificial incubation and does not generally produce hand-raised birds for the pet market
