Rugby Club Drachten is a community rugby club in Drachten, Friesland, established in 1974. Its approach combines sporting challenge with enjoyment, respect, teamwork and helping one another improve. The club welcomes people of different ages and experience levels, from beginners to established players, and offers rugby activities for youth and senior members at its home ground, It Dwarsfjild.
People curious about the sport can join an introductory month of training for free. These sessions introduce rugby basics, give newcomers a chance to experience the club atmosphere, and provide support from trainers as participants develop at their own pace. The club also invites prospective members to attend regular training and learn about joining.
Rugby Club Drachten fields teams and takes part in fixtures and competitions, including youth rugby and sevens events. Its website shares club news, an agenda and information about teams, membership and training, alongside a webshop and details about partners and the Club van 50.
