Project Runeberg

Project Runeberg is a volunteer initiative that has been publishing Nordic literature on the internet since 1992. Their catalog boasts hundreds of titles in several languages, offering free electronic editions of old books from Sweden and the Nordic countries. The project is supported by a small editorial office at Linköping University in Sweden and hundreds of volunteers worldwide.

Their work is legal, as they carefully respect copyright laws, and only publish works that have been out of copyright for more than 70 years. Project Runeberg is also committed to providing high-quality editions, using electronic facsimile editions to present images of printed pages.

The project welcomes sponsors, volunteers, and suggestions for improvements, maintaining an open attitude and inviting collaboration. With a long-standing history and dedication to improving Project Runeberg, they aim to make Nordic literature more accessible to a wider audience.
