Run for the Ribbons, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to creating secure futures for retiring Thoroughbred racehorses. Through rehabilitation, retraining, and rehoming, the organization helps Off-Track Thoroughbreds transition into new roles as sport, work, and pleasure horses. Its mission also includes showcasing the breed’s versatility, encouraging ongoing demand for retired racehorses, and building a positive public perception of Thoroughbred racing.

The organization supports horse adoption through listings of adoptable horses, adoption FAQs, and an application process. It also shares success stories and recognizes “Pasture Pros,” while providing services and events that promote Thoroughbred aftercare. These include the Florida Thoroughbred Transformation Expo, the 4-D Jumper Jackpot, and the “Ring the Bell” In-Hand Incentive Class. Run for the Ribbons also offers HorseShare and HorseShare Cards, and invites supporters to contribute through donations and other ways to help. Its news and educational activities highlight the people and programs advancing aftercare, including workshops and practitioner training.
