Runn-is

Runn-is is a non-profit association based in the Falun–Borlänge region of Sweden, dedicated to encouraging outdoor recreation on Lake Runn and nearby lake systems during winter. Its main activity is arranging for long-distance ice-skating routes to be cleared, helping residents and visitors enjoy the area’s frozen waterways. The association also supports other winter activities and works with business and organizational partners to develop its sporting, social and technical activities.

Runn-is provides practical information to help people plan their time on the ice. Its website features ice reports, a downloadable ice map, local weather forecasts and periodic camera images from locations around the lake. Reports describe current conditions and may note when changing weather makes regular monitoring difficult. The association also shares links to ice-safety guidance and provides contact details for its representatives. Outside the winter season, Runn-is clears away its equipment and prepares for the next skating season. The organization welcomes contributions from supporters and lists options for donating by Swish, bank transfer or international transfer.
