Users enter a starting point and destination, then can add intermediate stops to plan a multi-city journey. The service maps driving routes and estimates distance in kilometers, travel time, fuel consumption, and trip cost.

Route settings include departure time, average speed, fuel consumption, fuel price, and the option to avoid toll roads, helping travelers tailor estimates to their plans. The site also provides instructions for using the calculator, recent routes submitted by users, and examples of journeys with estimated distances and driving times. These tools support holiday and leisure travel, business trips, transport and logistics planning, fuel budgeting, and comparing route options. Examples range from short domestic drives to long-distance journeys between major cities across Russia and neighboring countries. By combining mapped routes with practical travel estimates, ru•roads helps drivers plan journeys and anticipate their time and fuel requirements.
