of Rush Performance Coaching

Rush Performance is a swim and endurance-sport coaching brand based in Bay Shore, New York. Founded by coach Joe Petrush, the business provides training for swimmers of all abilities, from beginners to advanced athletes, with an approach centered on patience, individual goals, and efficient movement. Petrush is a Total Immersion-certified swim coach and a USAT Level II triathlon coach, drawing on experience coaching swimmers since 2005.

Services include private lessons, open-water training, and private or group programs for competitive youth. Coaching can address stroke technique, conditioning, starts and turns, underwater skills, pacing, nutrition, recovery, and the mental aspects of performance. Training is tailored to each athlete’s ability, goals, injury profile, schedule, and lifestyle. The facility uses an endless pool, mirrors, above- and underwater video cameras, and a waterproof headset to support analysis and real-time feedback, with an emphasis on injury prevention and helping swimmers learn to self-coach. Rush Performance also offers in-person video assessments and remote video analysis with voiceover feedback, corrections, and suggested drills.
