Rust and Dust is a post-apocalyptic live-action role-playing (LARP) experience set amid the ruins of a world destroyed more than a century ago. Staged on a former explosives-chemistry site, the event uses its setting to create an intense end-of-the-world atmosphere. Participants enter the story of New Hope, a settlement offering survivors the possibility of refuge and a fresh start in a harsh wasteland.
Over nearly 100 hours, players take on characters, make consequential choices, meet other survivors and help shape a living, continually evolving community. The experience centers on immersive storytelling, role-play and the challenges of finding a place—and surviving—in a dangerous new world. Rust and Dust invites participants to create their own stories rather than simply observe the action.
