About RWEA
RWEA (Romania Wind Energy Association) is a non-profit organization launched in 2008 in the wind energy industry in Romania. It actively engages in national and international policy and regulatory dialogue, communication, research, and analysis regarding the expansion of renewable energy sources. RWEA is the voice of energy transition and the wind energy industry in Romania.
Currently, the organization has the support of approximately 50 members who represent 2700 MW out of Romania's 3000 MW of wind energy. RWEA offers various services to support the development of its members, providing the best networking and learning opportunities in the sector. The organization collaborates with national and international organizations, research initiatives, and think tanks to create synergies that constantly update and improve policies and regulations necessary for the adoption of new renewable technologies.
RWEA's goals include raising awareness about the benefits of wind energy, dispelling myths, and providing access to credible information. Moreover, RWEA actively promotes projects that facilitate a structural and technological transition, ensuring equitable social development in coal-dependent areas, with the main objective of achieving a sustainable transformation of the Romanian energy system
