A Life for a Cure – Ryan Bresnahan’s Meningitis Appeal is a registered charity in England and Wales, established in memory of Ryan Bresnahan, who died suddenly from Meningitis B on 31 March 2010. Founded by his family, the charity honours Ryan’s life by supporting efforts to prevent other young people and families from experiencing a similar loss. Its original aim was to raise funds in pursuit of a vaccine for Meningitis B.
Following the vaccine’s licensing in 2015, the organisation, run entirely by volunteers, has focused its efforts on raising awareness of meningitis, particularly among young adults, identified as the disease’s second most at-risk group. The charity invites supporters to donate, take part in forthcoming and completed fundraising events, and follow its news and special initiatives. Its website also shares Ryan’s story, photo galleries, music and videos, and information about meningitis and the use of funds.
