Rutherford Youth Club

Rutherford Youth Club is a community organization in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area that offers recreational programs for local children. Its featured program, Rutherford Rec Basketball, provides coed basketball for children across grade levels, combining practices and games with an emphasis on participation, skill development, and enjoyment of the sport. The program’s mission is to help young people build athletic ability, confidence, and self-esteem while learning teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for others.

Biddy Ball introduces younger players to basketball with weekly practices, lowered rims, and games designed without scorekeeping. For players in third grade and up, the program generally includes two one-hour practices per week and games with recorded scores and standard calls for fouls, travelling, and double dribbling. Open gyms are held to assess player skill levels, while team practice schedules and locations are arranged after teams are selected. Rutherford Youth Club also invites adults to register as volunteer coaches, subject to required clearances.

The organization provides online registration, schedules, facility and gym information, reservations, forms, and email communications.
