Royal Yacht Club of Victoria

Founded in May 1853 as the Port Phillip Yacht Club, the Royal Yacht Club of Victoria (RYCV) is one of Australia’s oldest yacht clubs. Located in Williamstown on the shores of Port Phillip, the Club combines a long history of yachting with programs and facilities for sailors of varied ages and experience. More than 1,000 members and over 200 registered yachts make RYCV a lively home for the sailing community, with racing waters known for steady breezes and little or no current.

The Club offers keelboat and off-the-beach sailing, cruising, club races, and regattas, including state, national, and international championships. Its race program provides entries, sailing instructions, results, and race-management support. Training through the Royals Training Centre includes learn-to-sail experiences, Tackers junior courses, youth and adult programs, dinghy and keelboat instruction, windsurfing, powerboat training, marine radio courses, and other short courses. RYCV also provides marina and hardstand access, boat storage, slipping and yard services, and sail passes.
