Shiseki Ryotei Kagetsu is a historic restaurant in Maruyama, Nagasaki, housed in the former buildings and garden of Hikidaya, an established establishment dating to 1642. A designated historic site, Kagetsu preserves the character of Nagasaki’s past, when the city connected Japan with cultures from abroad. Its signature offering is shippoku cuisine, a distinctive Nagasaki style that blends Japanese cooking with influences from China, Portugal, and the Netherlands. Guests gather around a red circular table to enjoy seasonal dishes in a convivial setting.

The property features nine individual rooms, including a Western-style room and a 45-tatami-mat hall, alongside an approximately 800-tsubo Japanese garden with seasonal blossoms and foliage. Kagetsu also hosts weddings and banquets, with venues overlooking the garden and space for gatherings of up to 150 people in its large hall. Special touches may include performances by Maruyama geisha and traditional celebratory customs. Dining is by advance reservation for parties of at least two adults.
