Rzeszow

The State Archive in Rzeszów is a Polish government institution responsible for preserving and providing access to important records created by public administration offices and other institutions in the Podkarpackie region. Established in 1950, it forms part of Poland’s national archive network and operates a branch in Sanok. Its work includes collecting, organizing, researching, and safeguarding archival materials, as well as supervising records management and accepting materials for permanent preservation.

The archive serves a broad public, including historians, researchers, students, genealogists, government employees, and other visitors. Users can consult records in its reading rooms or submit search requests. Based on its holdings, the institution also issues certificates and authenticated copies, extracts, transcripts, and reproductions of archival documents. Alongside these services, the archive supports historical research and promotes public understanding of the past through educational activities, school presentations, events, publications, and exhibitions. Its website provides practical information, downloadable forms, service rules, fees, and access to online archival resources, helping visitors explore records and arrange their visits.
