The Scottish Aeromodellers Association (SAA) is a non-profit organisation supporting, promoting and facilitating model flying across Scotland. Formed around eighty years ago, it brings together Scottish aeromodelling clubs and supports the internationally recognised sport across a wide range of disciplines. Members can access association services, events, competitions and a shared knowledge base, as well as information on training, testing, safety and membership.

The SAA helps newcomers take their first steps by directing them to local clubs through its Club Finder. Club members and instructors can offer guidance and may provide access to a trainer aircraft, so beginners do not need to buy equipment immediately. Joining a club and the SAA can provide a route to insurance cover and the Association’s Achievement Scheme; newcomers are also advised to register with the CAA Drone Code.

Activities represented by Scottish clubs include scale models, aerobatics, control line, float planes, multi-rotor flying, free flight, gliding, jet-powered models, helicopters, trainer planes and electric-powered aircraft.
