About South African Broadband Education Networks
SABEN, South African Broadband Education Networks, is a non-profit company that focuses on providing digital solutions to schools networks and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sectors in South Africa. Their mission is to end bandwidth poverty among South Africa's schools and public TVET colleges. SABEN procures high capacity access networks that connect TVETs to South Africa's National Research and Education Network (SA NREN).
They work closely with the South African National Research and Education Network (SANReN) and the Tertiary Education and Research Network of South Africa (TENET) to ensure high capacity bandwidth for TVET colleges. In addition to their core services, SABEN also offers hosting, VOIP, and video conferencing services. They are dedicated to solving the digital requirements of the post schools education and training (PSET) system in South Africa and support the developmental strategies outlined in the White Paper for Post-School Education and Training.
SABEN collaborates with TENET, SANReN, and ESN (e-Schools’ Network) to provide comprehensive support and connectivity to schools and colleges. By partnering with SABEN, institutions can access reliable and high-speed internet, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the developmental goals of the country
