About SACA
SACA – Stakeholder Alliance for Corporate Accountability is a non-governmental organization that aims to improve the practices of multinational oil companies operating in the Niger Delta region. Founded in 2012, SACA focuses on the management of the environment, delivery of social responsibilities in communities, and the respect for human rights and humanitarian laws.
As a stakeholders research and engagement organization, SACA promotes standards, project acceptability, and environmental responsibility among multinational oil and gas companies and their stakeholders in the Niger Delta. Their work encompasses various thematic areas, including alternative livelihoods, community development, environment, and justice.
SACA's initiatives include preventing oil spills and ensuring cleanups, developing alternative livelihoods in environmentally degraded areas, and promoting transparency and user satisfaction in community development. They also work towards the cleanup of oil spill sites and engage with corporations in Nigeria and abroad to apply international standards in handling oil spills.
Through research, mobilization, sensitization, and support, SACA enables constructive engagement between stakeholders and fosters right relationships between the people of Niger Delta, oil operators, and the Nigerian government. By promoting respect for clean environment and sustainable livelihoods, SACA aims to make a positive impact in the region.
