Die Sacom wurde 1951 in Biel als Exportfirma von Schweizer Uhren für den asiatischen Markt gegründet. Neben weiteren Handelstätigkeiten mit Autozubehör und Textilmaschinen startete die Sacom 1961 als erste Generalvertretung in Europa mit dem Import und Vertrieb von Pioneer Unterhaltungselektronik. Später kamen weitere Vertretungen wie Akai, TDK, KEF oder Celestion hinzu.
