About SAEP
The South African Education Project (SAEP) is a registered nonprofit based in Philippi, Cape Town, working to expand educational opportunity for children, young people, and education providers. Since 1994, it has delivered holistic education and support through five learning programmes. Its approach combines academic assistance with extended experiential learning, life-skills development, and psychosocial support, helping learners build confidence and pursue their goals.
SAEP also works alongside educators, schools, and partners to strengthen learning opportunities in local communities. Its work includes support for early childhood development centres and a Bridging Year programme; SAEP reports that 57% of Bridging Year students access tertiary studies after completing the programme. In 25 years of operation, the organisation has served 31,750 beneficiaries and supported 155 early childhood development centres.
SAEP shares programme news and stories and invites individuals to get involved, join its team, donate, or leave a legacy. The organisation maintains contacts in South Africa and the United States and publishes a quarterly newsletter
